At Wheaton Way Veterinary Hospital, we offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology to better serve our patients. All surgical patients are carefully screened for safety prior to, and during surgery, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to each pet’s individual needs. Our technical support staff is fully trained to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art anesthesia, pain control, and procedures for your pet. Rest assured that when you bring your animal companion to us for surgery, they will be in caring, capable hands.
We have a close network of mobile surgeons that perform needed treatments on your pet within our facility and under our care (i.e., under our anesthesia and pain control standards) at very reasonable prices. Anesthesia monitoring parameters include continuous ECG, oxygen saturation monitors, end-tidel carbon dioxide levels, and non-invasive blood pressure. Additionally, all patients have IV catheters placed and fluids administered to maintain blood pressure and to facilitate immediate vein access in the unusual event of an adverse anesthesic reaction. The safety and comfort of our surgical patients is always our first priority.
Lasers are a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. Lasers replace scalpels in many procedures, and are useful for a wide range of conditions, such as cyst, tumor, and wart removal. Laser procedures result in less pain, less bleeding and less swelling. They also reduce risk of infection and result in less post-operative discomfort.
Our veterinary surgeons include specialists able to perform eye surgery, neurosurgery and orthopedic surgical procedures.
